A stroll through East Hampton town and the giveaway winner!!

I always enjoy a stroll through town in East Hampton. Sitting on a bench people watching is always fun in this town of celebrities. The star spottings are a summer past time in our family,  a game we have adopted to see whose star trumps another.  I believe my sister wins with seeing Paul McCartney skip down the street past her with his daughter.  I was sitting in the same row at the theater recently with Bill and Hillary Clinton but it didn't count because it wasn't out at the beach. I was totally star struck and speechless and found their close proximity to be completely distracting. I mean my favorite actor from Breaking Bad, Bryan Cranston, was portraying LBJ in All The Way and I couldn't fully concentrate with the Clinton's a few seats away. I will spare you the details about how Bill ended up sitting right behind me for the entire second act and I kept thinking he was looking at the back of my head...whatever...it was fun!

I digress because, although the play was great this post is about East Hampton..

Hydrangea grace many storefronts...

I love swinging through Mecox.

Ralph Lauren's displays always inspire. (I was at his vintage store once and he popped in with Ricky....they looked cute together......McCartney still wins!)

Stores were giving away lots of freebies....gelato pops!

Gift bags from Ricky's, a unique fashion accessory store.

Hors d'oeuvres and champagne at Elie Tahari...

An auction pop up looking to capitalize on the summer crowd had nice noshes but all repro art.

This dress at Haute Hippie was so beautiful. I love bias cut dresses, do you?

It's hard to see but it had a delicate spray of beading on the top..

What I love about the stores here is the inventory is extraordinary, a real feast  for the eyes.

The leather is the finest....look at that woven one. Sometimes the hardware disappoints but not here. Hefty price tags, of course!

These are not your typical Converse sneakers....sparkled and distressed they were $450.00 a pair.

Back rooms were open to outdoor gardens and beautiful breezes.

Obligato always has colorful dresses with prices a little more reasonable. The sales staff is always nice, too!

The small shops have struggled with rents that keep going up and up and I thought it was nice one shopkeeper was helping another.

My favorite shoe store is Shoe Inn on Newtown Lane. They have dozens of great styles not found in department stores and a terrific sales staff. There is even a smaller one in Livingston NJ if you don't get out to East Hampton. Definitely worth a visit if logistically  possible for you.  The pricing is not sky high, they also have handbags, hats and accessories.

I never like to leave the compound for long because I don't want to miss something. Hands down my favorite summer photo is this one, above, of my mother, niece and sister....cracks me up each time I look at it.  I hope you are having some summer laughs.

We have a new shipment arriving first week in August.  This week we had a "blue sale" where anything blue was 20% off.  Currently we are running 15% off all indoor/outdoor pillows. Notified through Facebook and Instagram, it's the best way to see the new arrivals daily and receive notice of our spur of the moment sales. Like us on FACEBOOK and follow me on INSTAGRAM to receive notice. I will continue to share our progress with the renovation project here.

The winner of our giveaway is Valerie Wise. Valerie liked us on Facebook and won 2 beautiful books covered in handwritten French script paper. Thank you to all who participated, we are running another giveaway soon.

  Happy summer!
Warmest regards,
Bonny
